How to set up parental control on a child's smartphone or tablet

To save your time, we have prepared a quick user guide on how to set up parental control on your kid’s smartphone and tablet using Family Link and Screen Time services.

  • Step 1.1 Create a kid Telegram account. If your kid already HAS the Telegram app installed
    If your kid already has an active KidGram session with available "Telegram" chat, then go to Step 2. IMPORTANT! To log in to Telegram, you will receive an authorization code via a phone call or an SMS. The code will be sent to the child's phone number Take the kid’s device or ask your child to do the following: Open the Telegram app and go to account settings. Make sure the kid account is created with your child's phone number. If the phone number is correct, then go to Step 2. If the phone number is incorrect, continue the setup: 1. In the right upper corner press the Menu button (“three dots” if you have Android) or Edit (if you have iOS) 2. Sign out of the incorrect account by clicking the sign out button. 3. Enter the kid’s phone number. UNCHECK THE CONTACTS SYNCHRONIZATION, if you don't want the contacts from the kid’s device to appears in the child's account. 4. You will receive a phone call or an SMS with a Telegram authorization code to the kid’s phone number. Make sure you can view an SMS or receive a call 5. Enter the received code in Telegram and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in 6. After the log in to Telegram is completed, go to Step 2
  • Step 1.2 Create a kid Telegram account. If your kid DOES NOT HAVE the Telegram app installed
    If your kid already has an active KidGram session with available "Telegram" chat, then go to Step 2. If parental control is on, you can temporarily disable it to install apps on the kid's device IMPORTANT! To log in to Telegram, you will receive an authorization code via a phone call or an SMS. The code will be sent to the child's phone number Take the kid’s device or ask your child to do the following: 1. Open the application store of your mobile platform and search for the Telegram application 2. Install the Telegram app 3. Open the app and enter the kid’s phone number. UNCHECK THE CONTACTS SYNCHRONIZATION, if you don't want the contacts from the kid’s device to appear in the child's account. 5. You will receive a phone call or an SMS with a Telegram authorization code to the kid’s phone number. Make sure you can view an SMS or receive a call 6. Enter the received code in Telegram app and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in 7. After the log in to Telegram is completed, go to Step 2
  • Step 2. Log in to KidGram with the kid’s phone number
    Take kid’s device or ask your child to do the following: 1. Open KidGram and tap Sign in 2. Make sure the kid’s Telegram/Kidgram session is active. 3. Enter the kid’s phone number and press the confirmation button 4. A message with a KidGram authorization code will be sent to the "Telegram" chat of the kid’s KidGram/Telegram active session. 5. Enter the received code in KidGram app and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in 6. After the log in to KidGram is completed, delete the Telegram app from the child's device so that the kid does not have uncontrolled access to content 7. After the log in to KidGram is completed, you should bound it to the ELARI SafeFamily parent account, so that you can manage chats, contacts, the online search and other functions. Read more in the "How to bind the child's KidGram account to the ELARI SafeFamily parent account" section After the log in and the binding are completed, you and the contacts you allow will be able to chat with your child via Telegram and KidGram messengers and also send him wonderful content that we'll help you find!
  • Bind the child's KidGram account to the ELARI SafeFamily parent account
    Attention! Without binding KidGram to your SafeFamily account, you will not be able to use the parental control function and the child will not be able to use chats Notes! The SafeFamily binding code will be sent to the KidGram app, you will find it in the notifications of the Kid’s device 1. Open the ELARI SafeFamily app on the parent's smartphone 2.1. In case you do not have any connected kids’ devices, the settings window will open automatically. Click on the Setup Wizard button and select a Smartphone or a tablet with the KidGram app 2.2. If you already have a connected kid’s device, then click on the child's profile avatar in the right upper corner of the main screen, then click on the “+” button. Click the Setup Wizard button and select Smartphone or tablet with the KidGram app 3. Follow the instructions in the app to bind KidGram to your SafeFamily account After the log in to KidGram and the binding to SafeFamily are completed, you and the contacts you allow will be able to chat with your child via Telegram and KidGram messengers and also send him wonderful content that we'll help you find!

Enter the received code in Telegram and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in 7. After the log in to Telegram is completed, go to Step 2

You will receive a phone call or an SMS with a Telegram authorization code to the kid’s phone number. Make sure you can view an SMS or receive a call 5. Enter the received code in Telegram and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in 7. After the log in to Telegram is completed, go to Step 2
  • Step 2. Log in to KidGram using a QR code
    Take the kid’s device or ask your child to do the following: 1. Open the KidGram app and tap Sign in 2. On the phone number entry screen tap the Sign in with a QR code button 3. Tap the Show a QR code button and a QR code will appear on the screen If the QR code does not appear within 20 seconds, then tap the “Show a QR code” button one more time. 4. Open the Telegram app and go to “Settings” -> “Devices” -> “Link Desktop Device”. Give permission to use the camera, if necessary, and scan a QR code from the kid’s device screen. 5. After the log in to KidGram is completed, you should bound it to the ELARI SafeFamily parent account, so that you can manage chats, contacts, the online search and other functions. You will receive a phone call or an SMS with a Telegram authorization code to the kid’s phone number. Make sure you can view an SMS or receive a call 6. Enter the received code in Telegram and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in 7. After the log in to Telegram is completed, go to Step 2
  • Step 2. Set up age restrictions
    Appoint the child's age to set the suggested content restrictions or set restrictions for each type of content separately Go to the downtime setup.
  • Step 1. Turn on «Screen Time»
    In case your kid uses an iOS or iPadOS device and you (parent) use Android devices, parental control is set up directly on the kid's device 1. Go to «Settings» and select the «Screen Time» function. 2. Tap «Turn on Screen Time», then tap «Continue». 4. Tap «This is My Child’s iPhone».
  • Step 5. Create a Screen Time passcode
    Create a passcode which will be required to allow extra time, download apps or make changes to Screen Time settings Read more about «Screen Time» on Apple Support
  • Step 3. Set up the downtime
    Set a time period when the child will not be able to use the device without your permission Go to application limits setup.
  • Step 4. Set up limits for apps and websites
    Set up daily time limits for app categories. If the limit is reached, further use of these applications will require your permission
  • How to set up KidGram on a smartphone/tablet if the child already has a KidGram account on the kids watch?
    1. Open KidGram on a kids watch. 2. Check that there's a Telegram chat on the list of chats and it's available to read. 3. If the "Telegram" chat is not on the list of chats or it is blocked, then do the following: a) Open the ELARI SafeFamily application on the parent (your) device; b) From the list of devices, select the kids watch where the child is authorized in KidGram; c) Go to the KidGram tab; d) Using the search, find the "Telegram" chat in "Requests" or "Blocked" sub-tabs; e) Allow or unblock the "Telegram" chat. 4. After you have made sure that the “Telegram” chat is available to read on the kids watch, proceed to setting up KidGram on a kids smartphone or tablet following this authorization method: “Using the code received through the kid’s Telegram/KidGram account”. Start setup with the Step 2.
  • Ban the searching of groups, channels and contacts in KidGram
    1. Open the ELARI SafeFamily app on the parent's smartphone. 2. Go to KidGram tab. 3. Click on the switch next to Search contacts and content of KidGram/Telegram.
  • Access to the child's chat history
    NOTES: Access to the Chat History is provided free of charge for several months after the launch of the KidGram app. Terms are subject to change in the future without prior notice to users. Chat history is available only for the chats, groups and channels that were previously allowed by you. 1. Launch the ELARI SafeFamily app on the parent's smartphone. 2. Go to KidGram tab. 3. Select the Chats subtab on the KidGram page. 4. Click Chat history on the chat plate to view all messages in this chat, including deleted messages by the child or his correspondent.
  • Why is the location of an Android smartphone with KidGram displayed inaccurately in ELARI SafeFamily?
    IMPORTANT! The location of a smartphone with KidGram is updated only when you click the "Update location" button in the ELARI SafeFamily application. Please note that this is an approximate manual due to differences in Android OS interfaces between smartphone brands. If the location is displayed inaccurately, check the location settings and the app's permissions. In the KidGram application the location permission has to be set to the ALWAYS mode, only in this case the KidGram application can send the correct geolocation to the ELARI SafeFamily application at any time. How to check location settings on a kid’s device: 1. Go to Settings > Geolocation or Location 2. Enable geolocation. How to check the permission to access location on the kid’s device: 1. Press and hold the KidGram icon until the quick action window appears. Click "Details" or the corresponding icon OR Go to Settings > Apps > KidGram OR Go to Settings > Location > App Permissions > KidGram. 2. On the app information screen, select "Permissions" and then "Location". 3. Select the mode "Allow in any mode" or "Allow all the time". 4. If this menu has a "Use precise location" function, then enable it as well.
  • How to bind KidGram on a smartphone / tablet to the second (another) SafeFamily parent account?
    The process of binding to the second and subsequent ELARI SafeFamily parent accounts is carried out in the same way as binding to the first ELARI SafeFamily parent account. Read more in the "KidGram for smartphones" quick start guide, chapter name - “How to bind the child's KidGram account to the ELARI SafeFamily parent account”
  • Viewing your child's chat statistics
    1. Launch the ELARI SafeFamily app on the parent's smartphone. 2. Go to KidGram tab. 3. Select the Chats subtab on the KidGram page. 4. Click Statistics on the chat plate: you will see chat statistics for 10 days by default. 5. Click on the filter button indicating the number of days and select the timespan of the chat statistics to be revealed.
  • How can I chat with my child in KidGram?
    KidGram app supports all content, groups and channels created in Telegram, as well as chats with Telegram users. 1. Open the app store and install Telegram messenger on your device. 2. Log in to Telegram using your account and the phone number of your device. 3. Use the Search by contacts and people function to find the child's contact using the phone number of the Kid's watch. 4. Add your child to contacts and you can chat. NOTES: In order for the child to be able to reply you, you must allow chat in the ELARI SafeFamily application.
  • How to update KidGram to the latest version on a kids watch?
    Attention! The watch must be at least 30% charged. If the charge level is less than 30% then charge the watch. The watch must be connected to the internet. IMPORTANT! Your mobile operator may charge you for mobile internet usage on watches. To use the current version of KidGram you need to update firmware of the kids watch, in order to do that: 1. Open "Settings" in the apps menu of your kids watch. 2. Enter a security code to access watch settings. You can find it on a separate sticker included in your watch kit. Depending on your watch model, the security code may be “2020”, “2021” or “2022”. 3. Find "Software Update" in settings and tap it. 4. Click "Check" to verify the firmware version is up to date. 5. If an update for your watch model is found, the watch will start downloading it. After an update is downloaded, click "Instal" and wait for the installation process to finish. IMPORTANT! Do not interact with kids watches during the update process. During the update process the watch may reboot itself several times - this is normal. After the process is completed a notification will appear on the watch screen, verifying the update has been successfully installed. Please repeat the update procedure to make sure you are using the latest software version.
  • Why can't I add multiple Android devices with the same KidGram account to the ELARI SafeFamily app?
    The KidGram account management is synced across all Android/iOS devices with the same KidGram account. You just need to add any Android/iOS device with your child’s KidGram account. Other Android/iOS devices will be managed through the device you have already added. Please note! If your kid uses a watch with KidGram and a smartphone/tablet with KidGram, then both devices must be added to the ELARI SafeFamily app.
  • Allow or deny chats
    1. Launch the ELARI SafeFamily app on the parent's smartphone. 2. Go to KidGram tab. 3. Select the Requests subtab on the KidGram page. 4. You will see a list of chats, groups and channels that the child wants to join and chat with or to which he was invited. 5. Allow or Deny a chat/channel/group. While chats, channels or groups are in Request status, they are completely inaccessible to the child. NOTES: Subsequently, you will be able to deny or allow the chat in the Allowed/Blocked subtabs
  • What happens when the KidGram free trial on smartphones and tablets ends?
    You have free access to controls of the KidGram messenger as a part of an initial welcome bonus. It is done so that you can get acquainted with the functionality of the service. We do not ask you to provide your credit card information to make an advance payment in order to make the whole process simpler and more convenient for you. We hope that in the future, an inexpensive ELARI Premium subscription won't seem too high a price for this crucial service. Your support through the subscription will allow us to further improve this service aimed at the good-natured development of kids. After the initial free trial expires, the control of KidGram through the ELARI SafeFamily application will be blocked for smartphones and tablets ONLY. Also, in order to prevent the uncontrolled use of KidGram by a child, access to KidGram TV, Chats and Contacts tabs in KidGram will be temporarily blocked. During the blocking of access, a notification will be displayed both in the parent's and the kid's applications. To subscribe to ELARI Premium: 1. In the ELARI SafeFamily app, select a kid's smartphone or a tablet with KidGram installed. 2. In the left upper corner of the SafeFamily home screen open Menu or Settings. 3. Tap My Subscriptions. 4. Choose the type of subscription that suits you and follow the instructions in the app.
  • Preview chats, channels and groups in Telegram
    If you see the Telegram button on the chat, group or channel plate, then you can view the chat in the Telegram app. To do this, click on the Telegram button on the chat plate, then you will be transferred to Telegram app or to the app store. NOTES: If the Telegram button is missing, then it’s impossible to view a chat, group or channel due to the settings of these chats or user accounts
  • Step 1. Install the ELARI SafeFamily app on the parent’s device
    Scan the QR code with a smartphone camera or a special application or click on the QR code. OR 1. Open the application store of your mobile platform and search for the ELARI SafeFamily application 2. Install or update the app 3. Open the app and register by following the instructions in the app IMPORTANT! If you already have an account, then log in with your username and password
  • Step 3. Check and install the kids watch firmware update.

  • Step 2. Connect the kids’ watches to the ELARI SafeFamily app
    1. Open the ELARI SafeFamily app on the parent's device 2. In case you don’t have connected kids’ devices, the settings window will open automatically. Click on the Setup Wizard button and select a model of your kids’ watch 3. If you already have a connected kids’ device, click on the child's profile icon in the right upper corner of the main screen, then click on the “+” button. Click the Setup Wizard button and select a model of your kids’ watch Follow the instructions in the application to connect the kids’ watch to your ELARI SafeFamily account IMPORTANT! Check and install the kids watch firmware update.
  • Step 2. Log in to KidGram app on the kid watch
    1. Find the KidGram app in the watches' menu 2. Open the application and choose Sign in with the kid device phone number 3. Enter the kid watch phone number and press the confirmation button 4. You will receive a phone call or an SMS with a KidGram authorization code to the kid watch phone number. An incoming call can be accepted directly on the watch. If the watch does not receive an incoming call, then the authorization code is sent via SMS. You can view the SMS by going to ELARI SafeFamily app in the watches' settings and clicking on SMS 5. Enter the received code in KidGram app and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in After the log in is completed, you and the contacts you allow will be able to chat with your child via Telegram and KidGram messengers and also share wonderful content that we'll help you find! IMPORTANT! If needed, enable the Call limit after completing the KidGram setup
  • Step 1. Change settings on the SafeFamily app to receive a code to the kid’s device
    Before you begin the setup, please read the entire manual! Attention! When using this log in process, the child SHOULD NOT HAVE ACTIVE SESSIONS in the KidGram/Telegram app. If there’s an active session, then log in by "Using the code received through the kid’s Telegram/KidGram account" A SIM card with the child's phone number must be installed in the kids’ watch and the watch must be linked to the ELARI SafeFamily application 1. In the ELARI SafeFamily application go to 
the watch settings, click Call limit and temporarily allow incoming calls by switching OFF the function. If needed, enable the function after completing the KidGram setup 2. Go to Step 2.
  • Step 1. Insert a kid’s SIM card into your (parent's) phone
    Before you begin the setup, please read the entire manual! If the kid already has Telegram with an authorized kid’s Telegram account, then go to Step 3. If not, follow the instructions in order. In the process of registering a kid’s Telegram account the kid's phone will receive an SMS or a voice call with a Telegram authorization code. It is recommended to insert the kid’s SIM card in your (parent's) phone to correctly receive a Telegram authorization code. See instructions that came with your phone to correctly install a SIM card. After completing the registration in Telegram, insert the kid’s SIM card back into the kid’s watch.
  • Step 3. Log in to KidGram app on the kid watch using a QR code
    Attention! Insert the kid’s SIM card back into the kid’s watch, to do this: a) turn off the watch, b) insert the SIM card according to the watch’s manual, c) turn on the watch. Kid’s watch and the device with an active kid’s Telegram account must have access to the Internet and mobile network throughout the log in process to KidGram Continue the log in process in KidGram: 1. Find the KidGram app in the watches' menu 2. Open the application, read the tips and choose Scan QR code via Telegram app 3. Read the instructions in the KidGram app, then press the confirmation button and a QR code will appear on the watch screen 4. Open the Telegram app and go to “Settings” -> “Devices” -> “Link Desktop Device”. Give permission to use the camera, if needed, and scan the QR code from the watch screen. After the log in is completed, you and the contacts you allow will be able to chat with your child via Telegram and KidGram messengers and also share wonderful content that we'll help you find! Important! If you previously logged out of your (parent) Telegram account, then you can log into it again. To do this log out of your child account in the Telegram application: a) go to settings and press the Menu button (“three dots” if you have Android) in the right upper corner or Edit (if you have iOS) and then Sign out. b) follow the instructions in Telegram to log in to your account
  • Step 2. Registering a kid’s account in Telegram.
    If your (parent) device does not have a Telegram app installed, install it from the app store of your platform. 1. Open the Telegram app 2. If you are already logged in under your (parent) account, then temporarily log out of it: go to settings and press the Menu button (“three dots” if you have Android) in the right upper corner or Edit (if you have iOS) and then Sign out. After completing the log in to KidGram, you will be able to log in back under your account. 3. Enter the kid phone number. ATTENTION! UNCHECK THE CONTACTS SYNCHRONIZATION so that your contacts do not appear in the child's account 4. You will receive a phone call or an SMS with a Telegram authorization code to the kid phone number. 5. Enter the received code in Telegram app and follow further instructions in the application to complete the log in 6. After the log in to Telegram is completed, insert the kid’s SIM card into the kids watch according to the device manual and proceed to Step 3
  • Step 3. Log in to KidGram app on the kid watch using child’s phone number
    Attention! Insert the kid’s SIM card back into the kid’s watch, to do this: a) turn off the watch, b) insert the SIM card according to the watch’s manual, c) turn on the watch. Kid’s watch and the device with an active kid’s Telegram account must have access to the Internet and mobile network throughout the log in process to KidGram Continue the log in process in KidGram: 1. Find the KidGram app in the watches' menu 2. Open the application, read the tips and choose Sign in with the kid device phone number 3. Enter the kid’s phone number and press the confirmation button 4. A message with a KidGram authorization code will be sent to the "Telegram" chat of the kid’s KidGram/Telegram active session 5. Enter the received code in KidGram app and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in After the log in is completed, you and the contacts you allow will be able to chat with your child via Telegram and KidGram messengers and also share wonderful content that we'll help you find! Important! If you previously logged out of your (parent) Telegram account, then you can log into it again. To do this log out of your child account in the Telegram application: a) go to settings and press the Menu button (“three dots” if you have Android) in the right upper corner or Edit (if you have iOS) and then Sign out. b) follow the instructions in Telegram to log in to your account

  • Step 2. Registering a kid’s account in Telegram.
    If your (parent) device does not have a Telegram app installed, install it from the app store of your platform. 1. Open the Telegram app 2. If you are already logged in under your (parent) account, then temporarily log out of it: go to settings and press the Menu button (“three dots” if you have Android) in the right upper corner or Edit (if you have iOS) and then Sign out. After completing the log in to KidGram, you will be able to log in back under your account. 3. Enter the kid phone number. ATTENTION! UNCHECK THE CONTACTS SYNCHRONIZATION so that your contacts do not appear in the child's account 4. You will receive a phone call or an SMS with a Telegram authorization code to the kid phone number. 5. Enter the received code in Telegram app and follow further instructions in the application to complete the log in 6. After the log in to Telegram is completed, insert the kid’s SIM card into the kids watch according to the device manual and proceed to Step 3
  • Step 4. Manage filters and content settings
    You can choose restrictions for each of the suggested content types. To do this, click on the desired item.
  • Step 2. Confirm Parental Controls
    Read carefully the information about parental controls and what restrictions will be placed on the child's device. It is recommended that you review this information with your child. Confirm the activation of parental control using the password of the child's Google account.

Enter the kid’s phone number and press the confirmation button 4. A message with a KidGram authorization code will be sent to the "Telegram" chat of the kid’s KidGram/Telegram active session. 5. Enter the received code in KidGram app and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in 6. After the log in to KidGram is completed, delete the Telegram app from the child's device so that the kid does not have uncontrolled access to content 7. If the "Telegram" chat is not on the list of chats or it is blocked, then do the following: a) Open the ELARI SafeFamily application on the parent (your) device; b) From the list of devices, select the kids watch where the child is authorized in KidGram; c) Go to the KidGram tab; d) Using the search, find the "Telegram" chat in "Requests" or "Blocked" sub-tabs; e) Allow or unblock the "Telegram" chat. 4. After you have made sure that the “Telegram” chat is available to read on the kids watch, proceed to setting up KidGram on a kids smartphone or tablet following this authorization method: “Using the code received through the kid’s Telegram/KidGram account”.   • Why is the location of an Android smartphone with KidGram displayed inaccurately in ELARI SafeFamily?
    IMPORTANT! The location of a smartphone with KidGram is updated only when you click the "Update location" button in the ELARI SafeFamily application. Please note that this is an approximate manual due to differences in Android OS interfaces between smartphone brands. If the location is displayed inaccurately, check the location settings and the app's permissions. In the KidGram application the location permission has to be set to the ALWAYS mode, only in this case the KidGram application can send the correct geolocation to the ELARI SafeFamily application at any time. How to check location settings on a kid’s device: 1. Go to Settings > Geolocation or Location 2. Enable geolocation. How to check the permission to access location on the kid’s device: 1. Press and hold the KidGram icon until the quick action window appears. Click "Details" or the corresponding icon OR Go to Settings > Apps > KidGram OR Go to Settings > Location > App Permissions > KidGram. 2. On the app information screen, select "Permissions" and then "Location". 3. Select the mode "Allow in any mode" or "Allow all the time". 4.   • Viewing your child's chat statistics

  • Why can't I add multiple Android devices with the same KidGram account to the ELARI SafeFamily app?
    The KidGram account management is synced across all Android/iOS devices with the same KidGram account. You just need to add any Android/iOS device with your child’s KidGram account. Other Android/iOS devices will be managed through the device you have already added. Please note! If your kid uses a watch with KidGram and a smartphone/tablet with KidGram, then both devices must be added to the ELARI SafeFamily app.
  • Allow or deny chats
    1. Launch the ELARI SafeFamily app on the parent's smartphone. 2. Go to KidGram tab. 3. Select the Requests subtab on the KidGram page. 4. You will see a list of chats, groups and channels that the child wants to join and chat with or to which he was invited. 5. Allow or Deny a chat/channel/group. While chats, channels or groups are in Request status, they are completely inaccessible to the child. NOTES: Subsequently, you will be able to deny or allow the chat in the Allowed/Blocked subtabs

the watch settings, click Call limit and temporarily allow incoming calls by switching OFF the function. If needed, enable the function after completing the KidGram setup 2. Go to Step 2.
  • Step 1. Insert a kid’s SIM card into your (parent's) phone
    Before you begin the setup, please read the entire manual! If the kid already has Telegram with an authorized kid’s Telegram account, then go to Step 3. If not, follow the instructions in order. In the process of registering a kid’s Telegram account the kid's phone will receive an SMS or a voice call with a Telegram authorization code. It is recommended to insert the kid’s SIM card in your (parent's) phone to correctly receive a Telegram authorization code. See instructions that came with your phone to correctly install a SIM card. After completing the registration in Telegram, insert the kid’s SIM card back into the kid’s watch.
  • Step 3. Log in to KidGram app on the kid watch using a QR code
    Attention! Insert the kid’s SIM card back into the kid’s watch, to do this: a) turn off the watch, b) insert the SIM card according to the watch’s manual, c) turn on the watch. Kid’s watch and the device with an active kid’s Telegram account must have access to the Internet and mobile network throughout the log in process to KidGram Continue the log in process in KidGram: 1. Find the KidGram app in the watches' menu 2. Open the application, read the tips and choose Scan QR code via Telegram app 3. Read the instructions in the KidGram app, then press the confirmation button and a QR code will appear on the watch screen 4. Open the Telegram app and go to “Settings” -> “Devices” -> “Link Desktop Device”. Give permission to use the camera, if needed, and scan the QR code from the watch screen. After the log in is completed, you and the contacts you allow will be able to chat with your child via Telegram and KidGram messengers and also share wonderful content that we'll help you find! Important! If you previously logged out of your (parent) Telegram account, then you can log into it again.     Attention! Insert the kid’s SIM card back into the kid’s watch, to do this: a) turn off the watch, b) insert the SIM card according to the watch’s manual, c) turn on the watch. Kid’s watch and the device with an active kid’s Telegram account must have access to the Internet and mobile network throughout the log in process to KidGram Continue the log in process in KidGram: 1. Find the KidGram app in the watches' menu 2. Open the application, read the tips and choose Sign in with the kid device phone number 3. Enter the kid’s phone number and press the confirmation button 4. A message with a KidGram authorization code will be sent to the "Telegram" chat of the kid’s KidGram/Telegram active session 5. Important! If you previously logged out of your (parent) Telegram account, then you can log into it again. To do this log out of your child account in the Telegram application: a) go to settings and press the Menu button (“three dots” if you have Android) in the right upper corner or Edit (if you have iOS) and then Sign out. b) follow the instructions in Telegram to log in to your account
  • Step 1. Insert a kid’s SIM card into your (parent's) phone
    Before you begin the setup, please read the entire manual! If the kid already has KidGram or Telegram with an authorized kid’s account, then go to Step 3. If not, follow the instructions in order. In the process of registering a kid’s Telegram account the kid's phone will receive an SMS or a voice call with a Telegram authorization code. It is recommended to insert the kid’s SIM card in your (parent's) phone to correctly receive a Telegram authorization code. See instructions that came with your phone to correctly install a SIM card. After completing the registration in Telegram, insert the kid’s SIM card back into the kid’s watch.

  • Why is the location of an Android smartphone with KidGram displayed inaccurately in ELARI SafeFamily?
    IMPORTANT! The location of a smartphone with KidGram is updated only when you click the "Update location" button in the ELARI SafeFamily application. Please note that this is an approximate manual due to differences in Android OS interfaces between smartphone brands. If the location is displayed inaccurately, check the location settings and the app's permissions. In the KidGram application the location permission has to be set to the ALWAYS mode, only in this case the KidGram application can send the correct geolocation to the ELARI SafeFamily application at any time. How to check location settings on a kid’s device: 1. Go to Settings > Geolocation or Location 2. Enable geolocation. How to check the permission to access location on the kid’s device: 1. Press and hold the KidGram icon until the quick action window appears. Click "Details" or the corresponding icon OR Go to Settings > Apps > KidGram OR Go to Settings > Location > App Permissions > KidGram. 2.   • Viewing your child's chat statistics

Click on the filter button indicating the number of days and select the timespan of the chat statistics to be revealed.

  • Why can't I add multiple Android devices with the same KidGram account to the ELARI SafeFamily app?
    The KidGram account management is synced across all Android/iOS devices with the same KidGram account. You just need to add any Android/iOS device with your child’s KidGram account. Other Android/iOS devices will be managed through the device you have already added. Please note! If your kid uses a watch with KidGram and a smartphone/tablet with KidGram, then both devices must be added to the ELARI SafeFamily app.
  • Allow or deny chats
    1. Launch the ELARI SafeFamily app on the parent's smartphone. 2. Go to KidGram tab. 3. Select the Requests subtab on the KidGram page. 4. You will see a list of chats, groups and channels that the child wants to join and chat with or to which he was invited. 5. Allow or Deny a chat/channel/group. While chats, channels or groups are in Request status, they are completely inaccessible to the child. NOTES: Subsequently, you will be able to deny or allow the chat in the Allowed/Blocked subtabs

  • Step 2. Connect the kids’ watches to the ELARI SafeFamily app
    1. Open the ELARI SafeFamily app on the parent's device 2. In case you don’t have connected kids’ devices, the settings window will open automatically. Click on the Setup Wizard button and select a model of your kids’ watch 3. If you already have a connected kids’ device, click on the child's profile icon in the right upper corner of the main screen, then click on the “+” button. Click the Setup Wizard button and select a model of your kids’ watch Follow the instructions in the application to connect the kids’ watch to your ELARI SafeFamily account IMPORTANT! Check and install the kids watch firmware update.
  • Step 2. Log in to KidGram app on the kid watch
    1. Find the KidGram app in the watches' menu 2. Open the application and choose Sign in with the kid device phone number 3. Enter the kid watch phone number and press the confirmation button 4. You will receive a phone call or an SMS with a KidGram authorization code to the kid watch phone number. An incoming call can be accepted directly on the watch. If the watch does not receive an incoming call, then the authorization code is sent via SMS. You can view the SMS by going to ELARI SafeFamily app in the watches' settings and clicking on SMS 5. Enter the received code in KidGram app and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in After the log in is completed, you and the contacts you allow will be able to chat with your child via Telegram and KidGram messengers and also share wonderful content that we'll help you find! IMPORTANT! If needed, enable the Call limit after completing the KidGram setup
  • Step 1. Change settings on the SafeFamily app to receive a code to the kid’s device
    Before you begin the setup, please read the entire manual! Attention! When using this log in process, the child SHOULD NOT HAVE ACTIVE SESSIONS in the KidGram/Telegram app. If there’s an active session, then log in by "Using the code received through the kid’s Telegram/KidGram account" A SIM card with the child's phone number must be installed in the kids’ watch and the watch must be linked to the ELARI SafeFamily application 1. In the ELARI SafeFamily application go to 
the watch settings, click Call limit and temporarily allow incoming calls by switching OFF the function. If needed, enable the function after completing the KidGram setup 2. Go to Step 2.
  • Step 1. Insert a kid’s SIM card into your (parent's) phone
    Before you begin the setup, please read the entire manual! If the kid already has Telegram with an authorized kid’s Telegram account, then go to Step 3. If not, follow the instructions in order. In the process of registering a kid’s Telegram account the kid's phone will receive an SMS or a voice call with a Telegram authorization code. It is recommended to insert the kid’s SIM card in your (parent's) phone to correctly receive a Telegram authorization code. See instructions that came with your phone to correctly install a SIM card. After completing the registration in Telegram, insert the kid’s SIM card back into the kid’s watch.
  • Step 3. Log in to KidGram app on the kid watch using a QR code
    Attention! Insert the kid’s SIM card back into the kid’s watch, to do this: a) turn off the watch, b) insert the SIM card according to the watch’s manual, c) turn on the watch. Kid’s watch and the device with an active kid’s Telegram account must have access to the Internet and mobile network throughout the log in process to KidGram Continue the log in process in KidGram: 1. Find the KidGram app in the watches' menu 2. Open the application, read the tips and choose Scan QR code via Telegram app 3. Read the instructions in the KidGram app, then press the confirmation button and a QR code will appear on the watch screen 4. Open the Telegram app and go to “Settings” -> “Devices” -> “Link Desktop Device”. Give permission to use the camera, if needed, and scan the QR code from the watch screen. After the log in is completed, you and the contacts you allow will be able to chat with your child via Telegram and KidGram messengers and also share wonderful content that we'll help you find! Important! If you previously logged out of your (parent) Telegram account, then you can log into it again. To do this log out of your child account in the Telegram application: a) go to settings and press the Menu button (“three dots” if you have Android) in the right upper corner or Edit (if you have iOS) and then Sign out. b) follow the instructions in Telegram to log in to your account
  • Step 2. Registering a kid’s account in Telegram.
    If your (parent) device does not have a Telegram app installed, install it from the app store of your platform. 1. Open the Telegram app 2. If you are already logged in under your (parent) account, then temporarily log out of it: go to settings and press the Menu button (“three dots” if you have Android) in the right upper corner or Edit (if you have iOS) and then Sign out. After completing the log in to KidGram, you will be able to log in back under your account. 3. Enter the kid phone number. ATTENTION! UNCHECK THE CONTACTS SYNCHRONIZATION so that your contacts do not appear in the child's account 4. You will receive a phone call or an SMS with a Telegram authorization code to the kid phone number. 5. Enter the received code in Telegram app and follow further instructions in the application to complete the log in 6. After the log in to Telegram is completed, insert the kid’s SIM card into the kids watch according to the device manual and proceed to Step 3
  • Step 3. Log in to KidGram app on the kid watch using child’s phone number
    Attention! Insert the kid’s SIM card back into the kid’s watch, to do this: a) turn off the watch, b) insert the SIM card according to the watch’s manual, c) turn on the watch. Kid’s watch and the device with an active kid’s Telegram account must have access to the Internet and mobile network throughout the log in process to KidGram Continue the log in process in KidGram: 1. Find the KidGram app in the watches' menu 2. Open the application, read the tips and choose Sign in with the kid device phone number 3. Enter the kid’s phone number and press the confirmation button 4. A message with a KidGram authorization code will be sent to the "Telegram" chat of the kid’s KidGram/Telegram active session 5. Enter the received code in KidGram app and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in After the log in is completed, you and the contacts you allow will be able to chat with your child via Telegram and KidGram messengers and also share wonderful content that we'll help you find! Important! If you previously logged out of your (parent) Telegram account, then you can log into it again. To do this log out of your child account in the Telegram application: a) go to settings and press the Menu button (“three dots” if you have Android) in the right upper corner or Edit (if you have iOS) and then Sign out. b) follow the instructions in Telegram to log in to your account

  • Step 4. Manage filters and content settings
    You can choose restrictions for each of the suggested content types. To do this, click on the desired item.
  • Step 2. Confirm Parental Controls
    Read carefully the information about parental controls and what restrictions will be placed on the child's device. It is recommended that you review this information with your child. Confirm the activation of parental control using the password of the child's Google account.
  • Step 3. Remove the apps your child shouldn't use
    Look carefully at the list of installed applications. If you want your child not to use some of them, flip the switch opposite the application into the off position. Go to manage filters and content settings
  • Step 5. Install Family Link for parents
    To remotely control a child's device and change parental control settings, you can install the "Family Link (for parents)" application on your (parent) device. Download it from Google Play (for Android or Chromebook) or App Store (for iOS). After setting up parental controls, we recommend that you read about settings of a child's account that you can manage.
  • Step 1. Enable parental control on your child’s device
    1. On your kid’s device, open «Settings». 2. Click «Google» > «Parental controls». 3. Click «Get started». 4. Select «Child or teen». 5. Click «Next». 6. Select your child’s account or create a new one for them. 7. Click «Next» and sign in with your (parent) account. Read more on Google Support
  • Step 5. Set up limits for apps and websites
    Set up daily time limits for app categories. If the limit is reached, further use of these applications will require your permission Read more about «Screen Time» on Apple Support
  • Step 4. Set up the downtime
    Set a time period when the child will not be able to use the device without your permission Go to application limits setup.
  • Step 3. Turn on «Screen Time»
    On the parent's device: 1. Go to «Settings» and select the «Screen Time» function. 2. Scroll down and select the child's name in the "Family" section. 3. Tap «Turn on Screen Time», then tap «Continue». 4. Appoint the child's age to set the suggested content restrictions or set restrictions for each type of content separately Go to the downtime setup.
  • Step 2. Manage Apple ID settings on a kid device
    On the kid’s device: If you didn't sign in to kid’s Apple ID during the device setup, do the following: 1. Go to «Settings» 2. Tap «Sign in to your iPhone». 3. Enter your kid’s Apple ID and password. If you protect your account with two-factor authentication, enter the six-digit verification code. Read more on Apple Support
  • Step 1. Create an Apple ID for your child
    On your (parent) device (in iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 or later): 1. Go to «Settings» > «Family». 2. Tap the «Add Member» button. 3. Tap «Create Child Account», then tap «Continue». 4. Enter the child's name and birth date. Be sure to enter the correct birth date — you can't change it later. 5. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish setting up the account.   • Step 1. Install the ELARI SafeFamily app on the parent’s device
    Scan the QR code with a smartphone camera or a special application or click on the QR code OR 1. Open the application store of your mobile platform and search for the ELARI SafeFamily application 2. Install or update the app 3. Open the app and register by following the instructions in the app IMPORTANT! If you already have an account, then log in with your username and password
  • Step 2. Install the KidGram app on the kids’ device
    If parental control is on, you can temporarily disable it to install apps on the kid's device. Take the kid’s device or ask your child to do the following: 1. Open the application store of your mobile platform and search for the KidGram application 2. Install the app on your child's device 3. Choose a convenient authorization method and follow the instructions
  • Log in to KidGram with the kid’s phone number
    Attention! When using this log in process, the child SHOULD NOT HAVE ACTIVE SESSIONS in the KidGram/Telegram app. If there’s an active session, then log in by "Using the code received through the kid’s Telegram/KidGram account" Take the kid’s device or ask your child to do the following: 1. Open the KidGram and tap Sign in 2. Ignore the instructions asking you to install Telegram 3. Enter the kid’s phone number and press the confirmation button 4. You will receive a phone call or an SMS with a KidGram authorization code to the kid’s phone number. Make sure you can view an SMS or receive a call 5. Enter the received code in KidGram and follow the further instructions in the application to complete the log in 6. After the log in to KidGram is completed, you should bound it to the ELARI SafeFamily parent account, so that you can manage chats, contacts, the online search and other functions.
